Britains Got Talent: Thursdays Results and Fridays Preview
Last nights Britains Got Talent had to be one of the most entertaining of the series, not because of the acts as most of them were quite dire, but because of the fireworks between the judges. Not seen on Britains Got Talent, but rather famously done on X-Factor, Piers and Amanda battle with each other over Jeremy Lynch, and Simon got into the firing line for buzzing for her. Anyway Britains Got Talent is supposed to be about the acts, so how did they fare?
Well in all honesty I think we saw the best of the acts in Wednesday night’s show. This was said by the judges as well, and Simon thought there were three acts that had the potential to go through to the final. In my mind there were two - Faryl Smith and Andrew Muir. Both are excellent singers in two very different styles.
The other act in contention for the final, but didn’t get any of the judges votes was Jeremy Lynch, which whilst he is obviously talented as a football trickster, did fumble a couple of times in his performance, for which the judges were unforgiving.
So we saw Faryl Smith, a 12 year old classical singer from Kettering. She sang Westlife’s Arms of The Angels in her operatic style, which went down well with the audience, judges and viewers alike. The viewers in fact put her straight into the final, leaving the judges to decide over Andrew Muir and Jeremy Lynch. Faryl’s performance can be seen below:
This one wasn’t really difficult to decide. Jeremy’s performance had mistakes in it, he chose to attempt some really difficult tricks, in fairness to him, he pulled off many, but it was the two drops of the ball which saw the end for him giving Andrew votes from Piers and Amanda, which put him through.
Simon didn’t need to vote this time, but said that if he did, then it would also have been for Andrew as his performance was faultless, though the song wasn’t a great choice. Andrew the 24 year old plumber from Faulstone, Scotland sang Paulo Nutini’s Last Request. Described by Piers as a Paul Potts moment, the performance was brilliant whilst Andrew remained humble. In the Final So Far
Saturday Night’s final is setting up to be a real cracker of a show. There are a nice number of good acts in there, which unlike the semifinals will be really difficult to see who’s going to win. This task will be made even more difficult if the acts choose the right performance. I think in the semi’s each of the acts have put on a safe act, even last nights winners were accused of picking the wrong songs to sing. For the final we’re going to need to see some big numbers complete with big money notes for them to have a chance of winning. We saw that last year when Paul Potts did Nessum Dorma.
Who do you think will steal the final? Let us know, in the mean time here’s what the bookies think:
