Let’s take a look at the Big Brother Betting Odds available from skybet a little more closely.
First of all I’ll take a look at the bets you can make with the shortest odds. Coming in at Evens, we have a housemate on the roof - well since this has happened in every series so far, it seems likely that this will happen again, evens I think is generous, unless there are things to prevent them from doing so, like razorwire?
Oddly we have in the 2/1 bracket for a housemate to be hospitalised overnight, I guess the law of averages should mean that someone could be taken ill enough for hospital, which has yet to happen so fair enough. Other Big Brother Bets you could make at 2/1 is the old one fingered salute from an exiting housemate, or indeed a housemate to enter the house in only their underwear and footwear. At 3/1 we have a house mate to go starkers in the pool, and a housemate to escape the house over the wall - both of which have happened in previous series, and in all honesty is pretty likely in Big Brother 9, so 3/1 is good odds for these bets.
A housemate falling down the stairs when leaving the house. Well this is a new take on last years - fall down the stairs on entry to the house, 4/1 are the odds on this happening on Big Brother this year. Whilst we’re on the subject of falling up/down stairs there’s 5/1 available on falling downstairs on entry to house or falling up the external stairs on the way in too. Also in the 5/1 bracket is whether there will be any nomination bans given out this series, it’s 5/1 that no one will be banned from nominating all series.
We’re getting naked again for this 6/1 bet, this time it’s for running around the garden naked in the first 24 hours. Also at 6/1 is that the police will be called in to break up a fight in the house.
You can get 7/1 on a housemate smashing a camera, whilst if you think that a housemate will get a UK number one single by the end of the show you could get 8/1 on this Big Brother bet.
Weighing in at 10/1 is a number of Big Brother Bets. A housemate quitting voluntarily in the first 24 hours; police evacuating the Big Brother House; one of the housemates getting a black eye from another housemate; and an intruder making it into the house. These are quite unlikely occurences I think, what with the high security around the Big Brother House, however from in the house it is possible for a fight to break out and a black eye given - we have come close in the past haven’t we? Also at 10/1 we have the prospect of a housemate entering the house topless - again we have come close!
The odds that Big Brother is taken off air mid series is 12/1 - you’ll remember this nearly happened with the Jade and Shilpa fiasco, but will it happen again? At 14/1 we’re back with the one fingered salute, this time on entering the house - not really a way of getting the crowd on your side is it?
At 16/1 we have a Housemate being prosecuted for a crime committed in the house, whilst these adds are also available for an all female final. At 20/1 we have a bet on a housemate donating all their prize money to charity (you may remember Craig (the builder) who did this for their relative). We also have the expulsion of a housemate for breaking the rules and a met on the show and got married by the end of 2008 which are also at 20/1.
At 33/1 we have a bet on whether Davina quits mid series and a bet on a housemate giving birth in the house. The last bet which you could take is that a housemate gets this years Christmas number one, which stands at only 50/1.
