Danyl Johnson takes early lead on X Factor
After whipping the audience into a frenzy, receiving a rare standing ovation from the judges and his performance being hailed “the single best first audition” by Simon Cowell, X-Factor hopeful Danyl Johnson already has the bookies running for cover.
Following his jaw-dropping audition on Saturday night’s show Paddy Power have taken the unprecedented step of installing the 27-year-old teacher from Reading as their 5/2 favourite to win this year’s contest.
This is the shortest price that any X-Factor contestant has been at this stage of the competition in the show’s six year history.
Paddy Power said “As soon as Danyl did his stuff on Saturday night we were literally knocked over with requests for betting on the dance teacher to win this year’s competition. Punters who usually bet in fivers or tenners were having fifty, or in some cases, one hundred euros on Danyl to win”
