Martina favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing
With the names finally confirmed Paddy Power has installed Martina Hingis as the 7/2 favourite to win this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.
The tennis legend, much used to fancy footwork around a court, is expected to have the skills to master being kept on her toes around a dancefloor.
The athletes are certainly leading the way with Hingis followed in the betting by Joe Calzaghe at 5/1 and Jade Johnson at 6/1. Soapland’s leading lady is former Hollyoaks star Ali Bastian at 6/1 whilst Oxo mum Lynda Bellingham is the 50/1 outsider.
Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: “Hingis has the footwork but Calzaghe is an undefeated champion and could well be the dancer with the most determination to keep his unbeaten record in tact.”
Racing legend Richard Dunwoody is 25/1 for a win but the jockey is also 14/1 to ‘fall at the first’ and take a tumble on his first show.
