Katie Taylor Tipped For Gold At 2012 Olympic Games

The decision on whether or not women’s boxing will be allowed in the 2012 Olympics is expected to be made this week and the odds are looking good with Paddy Power quoting 1/10 that the girls will get the go ahead for London.

That will leave Ireland in an excellent position to bring home gold at the 2012 games with World Champion Katie Taylor a virtual shoo-in to win a gold medal at odds of 1/8.

Bookies Paddy Power are quoting 4/7 that Taylor will bring home Ireland’s only gold medal in three years time. Separately, Olympic silver medallist Kenny Egan is 20/1 to win gold while it’s 25/1 that the pair pull off a double gold victory.

Paddy Power said: “It’s looking good for the girls to get the go ahead and it’s great Katie Taylor will get a chance to shine on the biggest stage. Come to think of it it’s great for Ireland too that we already look to have a gold medal in the bag!”
