REDCAR
4:20 Evening Gazette Fillies Handicap, Class 4, 7f
Passion Fruit wins in her turn and has well in better company. 6lb higher than when C&D winner last August but won on seasonal debut in 2005. Obvious chance. Chrystal Venture has raced exclusively over this trip prior to a run over 6f at Ripon (poor draw). Looked progressive when winning on AW, and seems reasonably weighted. Fantasy Parkes made a winning 2-y-o debut for Kevin Ryan, and was highly tried thereafter. Interesting on first start for Eric Alston.
Betting Forecast: 9/4 Passion Fruit, 4/1 Chrystal Venture, 5/1 Island Music, 6/1 Fantasy Parkes, Khazina, 10/1 Cassie´s Choice, Poppy´s Rose, 66/1 Dance In Style.
WOLVERHAMPTON
4:10 Name A Race to Enhance Your Brand Fillies’ Handicap, Class 5, 1m 141y
Reclamation had three runs as a 2yo to qualify for handicaps and has to be taken seriously. Outpaced at 1m in maiden company. Holds 1m 3f entry later in the week and may not have the pace for this on reappearance. John Gosden’s Queen´s Speech seems leniently weighted for her handicap debut. Not well drawn, but cannot be discounted, especially given her top stable. Ed Dunlop’s Pharaohs Queen has a stamina-laden pedigree, but has shown ability when placed in maidens from 7f to 10f. Handicap mark of 70 seems reasonable, and seems likely to be involved if pacey enough over this trip.
Betting Forecast: 7/2 Reclamation, 5/1 Pharaohs Queen, 13/2 Queen´s Speech, 8/1 Dream Sea, 10/1 Flower, Wogan´s Sister, 12/1 Double On Red, Italian Goddess, Star Grazer, 14/1 Ogre, Spiritofthetiger, 16/1 Sunshine Lady, 20/1 Inontime.
YARMOUTH
4:00 Great Yarmouth Advertiser Handicap, Class 3, 1m3y
Habshan is a versatile, hold-up performer. Encouraging fourth at Ascot on reappearance, and of real interest in this lesser race, with stable in great form and on second-time-out record (winner in each of last three seasons). Bustan, a former Listed winner came out best in tight finish to novelty handicap last time. That race is beginning to look a better form guide than usual, and hard to dismiss with faster ground in his favour.
Betting Forecast: 9/4 Highland Harvest, 5/2 Habshan, 6/1 Bustan, Lord Theo, 7/1 Mujood, 12/1 Rapid City, 33/1 Life´s A Whirl.
TOWCESTER
7:05 Volkswagen Touareg Gentleman’s Championship Hunters’ Chase (Final of The Volkswagen Touareg Series), Class 3, 3m 110yds
The winning yard for the last two years is represented by Dennis The Legend, a multiple point-point winner, and ridden by the in-form youngster Nick Schofield. Dennis The Legend boasts a 50% record at the trip and on the going. Suited by fast ground, but has not run under Rules since 2006 debut. Back Nine may find the ground a little lively. Denvale has won 3-5 here, made all in a 3m 4f point recently and should go well.
Good record of three wins from five starts at this track, including C&D success just over a year ago (off mark of 104) and arrives here after making virtually all in 3m4f point on good ground last month (left clear in closing stages); should go well
Betting Forecast: 9/4 Back Nine, 3/1 Denvale, 7/2 Rydal Park, 11/2 Man From Highworth, 11/1 Tender Tangle, 14/1 Dennis The Legend, 18/1 Mister Bertolli, 20/1 Garden Feature.
WINDSOR
6:55 Extrabet Stakes (Registered As The Royal Windsor Stakes), Listed Race, Colts & Geldings, Class 1, 1m 67yds
Dunelight loves fast ground and showed battling qualities when taking a Goodwood Listed prize last June. Subsequently acquitted himself well in Group company and could be tough to pass here, in ideal conditions, with Clive Cox’s yard now in top form. Metropolitan Man is suited by a sound surface and seemed to run as well as ever when third in Group 2 Sandown Mile last time on return from Dubai. Tops the official ratings (just!).
Betting Forecast: 2/1 Metropolitan Man, 11/4 Banknote, 3/1 Dunelight, 6/1 Ordnance Row, 10/1 Levera, 16/1 Final Verse, 33/1 Classic Port.
Prices will be available from online bookmakers’ sites, including Bet365, Ladbrokes, Paddy Power, skybet, Boylesports, Stan James and Blue Square, from 10 a.m. on Monday for afternoon racing, and noon for evening racing.
