4:30 Towergate Handicap ‘Chase, Class 4, 3m 2f

Potts Of Magic boasts some decent form in slightly better class, but has yet to win a ‘chase. Croc an Oir was pulled up after a bad blunder at Plumpton. Has been place in 15 of 23 ‘chase starts, but seems to be becoming difficult to win with. Kim Bailey’s Ya I Know is a point-to-point winner, but his form under Rules is poor and jumping needs to improve. History Master, a winning pointer, stayed on, but never looked like getting near the winner, in a hurdle at Worcester. Must be a major player if confidence has been restored.

Marodima, wide margin winner of Novice ‘Chases at Perth and Wincanton, reverts to hurdles from a 23lb lower mark and must be feared. His trainer, Paul Nicholls boasts a 32% strike rate with his hurdlers here, over the last 5 seasons. Noel Chance’s Jardin De Vienne, a winning 1m handicapper in France, made a promising handicap debut at Bangor. With the services of Tony McCoy, must go close

4:40 Equine America Handicap ‘Chase, Class 4, 2m 4f

Gary Moore’s Master T jumps too low at his fences for comfort, but has put up some taking performances nonetheless. Has shown a liking for this track, is clearly best on a sound surface and remains interesting. Dual course and distance winner Pan the Man is 5lb lower than his latest win and is certain to be better for his latest run at Wincanton (first since November).
