1400 Ballymore Properties Novices’ Hurdle (2m 5f)
The first race of the day is the Ballymore Properties Novice Hurdle. run over a distance of 2 miles and 5 furlongs, there’s an Irish Labourer somewhere with a horse named after him, as the favourite going into this race is Forpadydeplasterer (Currently 9/2 with Blue Square).
The SP should throw up a few opportunities for longer odds, but it’s difficult to look past Group Captain at 5/1 (also Blue Square) and Aigle D’Or (5/1, Bet 365). William Hill have Majestic concorde priced out at 25/1 which provides value, whilst long shots are available in the form of Fond of a drop (66/1, VC Bet) and Ravens Run (skybet, 100/1)
1435 Royal & SunAlliance Chase (3m 110y)
The Royal & Sun Alliance Chase is the second race of the day, and currently has 12 runners for the 3 miles, 110 yards race. Co-favourites are Albertas Run and Air Force One (Both 9/2 with Blue Square), followed by Pomme Tiepy (6/1 Boylesports).
As usual, better prices may be available at SP. totesport have Starzaan out at 9/1, tidal Bay is priced at 10/1 by Bet 365, whilst Stan James have the best available odds for Joe Lively at 12/1, as well as rank outsider Bagan (66/11)
1515 Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase (2m)
This is the big one of the day, as all eyes are on the 2 mile Queen Mother Champion Chase, which this year is sponsored by Seasons Holidays. Of course the Queen Mum enjoyed her racing, and no doubt she’ll be watching Cheltenham somewhere!
Master Minded is the current favourite to win the Queen Mother Champion Chase, with the best available odds currently being the 11/4 offered by Boyle Sports. Ladbrokes then have Voy Por Ustedes at 3/1. Twist Magic has fallen from favourite to third favourite, with the best odds currebtly being 9/2 (Paddy Power). They’re followed by Tamarinblue (5/1, Blue Square), Fair Along (12/1, Boylesports) and Mansony (also Boylesports, 20/1). 1600 Coral Cup (Handicap Hurdle) (2m 5f)
With the Queen Mother Champion Chase behind us, the next race of Wednesday afternoon at Cheltenham is the Coral Cup, or Handicap Hurdle at 4pm. Leg Spinner is the current favourite, with just 4/1 available from Boylesports, who also have the best odds for Song of Songs (10/1), County Zen (12/1), Mendo (20/1) and The Package (20/1)

1640 Peter O’Sullevan National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup (4m)
The penultimate race of the afternoon sees the Peter O Sullevan National Hunt Chase Challenge Cup, or the National Hunt Novice Chase to give it it’s popular name. Raced over 4 miles, this is also the longest race of the afternoon, so endurance and strength is more important than speed and agility.
Ornais starts the race as 4/1 favourite with Boylesports, closely followed by Over The Creek (5/1, totesport). A fair way behind the leading two in the betting odds are Back On Line (9/1, Boylesports) and Beantown (11/1, skybet). There are 20 runners in the amateur race, so plenty of chances for upsets. It might be worth looking at some of the higher-odds on horses such as Leading Authority (20/1, totesport), Rimsky (33/1, Paddy Power) or Sizing Australia (33/1, skybet)
1720 Weatherbys Champion Bumper (2m 110y)
