World Series of Poker winner odds
The 2009 World Series of Poker grand final is almost upon us, and the bookies have just released the odds for the overall winner of the Main Event on Saturday November 7th 2009. You can get a Free £25 bet on the WSOP when you open an account with Blue Square. Terms apply – see their site for details.
The clear favourite at this stage is Darvin Moon (10/3 with Paddy Power and Blue Square), mainly due to his large chip count going into the finals. Darvin was a part time Poker player prior to qualifying for the 2009 WSOP tournament by winning a $130 mini-tournament at his local casino in Oakland. He has nearly $59,000,000 in chips at his disposal, more than $14,000,000 more than his closet rival Eric Buchman (who is priced at 4/1 with bet365, Blue Square and William Hill).
Steven Begleiter has just under $30m in chips, and is available at odds of 13/2 with VC Bet (formally known as Victor Chandler) to be the 2009 WSOP winner. He is joined by Phil Ivey and Jeff Shulman on the same odds with VC Bet and Paddy Power respectively. Kevin Schaffel and Joe Cada are out at 12/1 with most bookies (including bet 365 and William Hill), whilst Antoine Saout and James Akenhead (who has less than $7m in chips going into the final) bring up the rear with odds of up to 20/1 available on them winning the 2009 World Series of Poker with VC Bet and Betfair.
