Football is Back – Copa America

For those of you who love Football, don’t fear, it’s back. Of course it’s not the English Football season yet, but instead we have the start of the oldest international football tournament in the world – the Copa America. This gem of international football covers the Americas, so you will see the great teams of Brazil and Argentina take on their neighbours in this tournament which kicks off today. Peru are the Hosts for the first time since 1957.

The first game is at 2315 BST this evening with Uruguay taking on Peru, this is followed by a match between Venezuela and Bolivar at 0250hrs. The two favourites for the final of the competition is as you’d expect Argentina and Brazil (currently 9/2 from Ladbrokes), however Argentina have been placed in a difficult group, which means they might come undone allowing Uruguay to take their place as one of the finalists. The final is set to take place Sunday 15th July.
