Premiership Betting Preview 3rd February
Fulham v Aston Villa
New signing Erik Nevland could start for Fulham against Villa at Craven Cottage in the latter of the two Sunday games in the premiership this week. Ashley Young will miss his first game of the season for the Villains courtesy of a suspension. Fulham will remain in the bottom two, even if they manage to put Aston Villa to defeat and record a precious first maximum for boss Roy Hodgson. Villa are also desperate for the points, to keep them within striking distance of the Top Four, and a lucrative Champions League place.
Fulham are 12/5 (totesport) to record their first win in 15 games. They are the Premier League’s draw specialists, so the draw at 23/10 (William Hill) is a generous price. Boyle Sports have Villa as the 5/4 favourites to win this match.
Newcastle v Middlesbrough
Kevin Keegan is still looking for his first goal, and first win as returning Newcastle manager, and the Toon faithful would love it, just love it if both could come against their North-East rivals in this Sunday lunchtime game. Emre returns from suspension for Newcastle, whilst Gareth Southgate hopes to give a debut to Afonso Alves, subject to gaining International clearance.
Surprisingly given their poor recent form, Newcastle are clear favourites to win this tie, with the best available odds being evens (bet365), whilst a Boro win is available all the way out at 10/3 with skybet. The draw is at 12/5 with Boylesports.
